"Tastes of JAPAN by ANA" is a regional vitalization project that collaborates with the different prefectures in Japan to present the Land of the Rising Sun in all of its diverse glory.
At the Hiwasa Chelonian Museum Caretta in Minami, Tokushima, there are events that allow visitors to interact with sea turtles on weekends and public holidays. During the nights from May to August, loggerhead turtles land on Ohama Beach in Minami. Right next to the beach is a museum dedicated to sea turtles. Sea turtle museums are rare around the world.

Visitors to the museum can both learn scientific facts and observe sea turtles in tanks and pools. In addition, on Ohama Beach, visitors can watch part of turtles laying eggs under the instruction of supervisory staff.
Try Feeding Large Turtles in the Pool
On weekends and public holidays, there are a variety of events that allow visitors to interact with sea turtles in the museum. Visitors can try feeding cabbage as a snack to turtles swimming leisurely in the outside pool.
