Moegi-no-Mura Village Natural Garden

Moegi Village Natural Garden is an organic garden that encompasses the entire village. Created by landscape designer Paul Smither, the garden is full of unique sceneries that make use of the landscape. Diverse kinds of plants are grown together, including rare species, trees, shrubs, and perennial herbs from around the Yatsugatake area that are seldom found in natural mountains nowadays. In addition, various insects and birds gather among the stone walls that are piled up one by one by craftsmen in the nozura-zumi style, an old stacking method to build robust walls. Because the garden constantly changes its appearance with every season, you can enjoy its many facets all year round.
