Order Products Before Your Flight

When flying with ANA, you have the option to pre-pay for products such as extra baggage and meal service. If you're are seated in First Class, Business Class, you can pre-order your meal free of charge.

Pre-Paid Extra Baggage for International Flights

This is a convenient service that allows you to pay additional charges in advance on the ANA website for one piece of extra baggage on itineraries where the ANA baggage rules apply. Make check-in smoother before you embark on your international flight by paying online.

Note: You can confirm the applicable baggage rules on the reservation confirmation screen.

Baggage Allowance

First Class

You are allowed bring three pieces of baggage free of charge plus one piece of extra baggage.

Business Class/ Premium Economy/ Economy Class

You are allowed bring two pieces of baggage free of charge plus one piece of extra baggage.

Note:
  • There are weight and size restrictions in place for individual pieces of baggage.
  • This service is not available for two or more pieces of extra baggage. In this instance, we kindly ask you to pay the excess baggage charges at the airport counter.
  • ANA Premium members are entitled to additional free baggage allowance (free baggage allowance for the applicable boarding class + one extra piece free of charge).

Eligibility

  • This service is available to customers who will travel on an ANA-operated international flight under an ANA flight number, and have one piece of baggage exceeding the free baggage allowance.
  • Eligible tickets include those that begin with 205.
  • The itinerary must not include any U.S. or Canadian cities.
  • The sector(s) for which the pre-paid extra baggage application is made cannot:
    • include a codeshare flight(s) and/or flight(s) operated by another airline
    • be the Japan domestic sector(s) only
    • have a separately printed flight ticket

Charges

The charges will vary depending on the flight sector and departure location. Charges will also be converted into the currency used on the website for the country or region where the request was made. In the below charts, please note the following areas.

  • Area 1: North America, South and Central America, Hawaii
  • Area 2: Europe, Africa, Middle East
  • Area 3: Asia (including Japan), Oceania

How to Apply

  • Please apply from the Reservation Details screen after purchasing your ticket on the ANA website.
  • Note: The Apply button will not be displayed if you are not eligible for this service or try to apply outside of the application period.

Application Period

The periods runs from when ticket purchase is completed until no later than 6 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of the first flight on the itinerary.

Changes and Cancellations

Changes

If you need to alter or make a change to your pre-paid baggage, you have until six hours prior to the scheduled departure time of the first flight on the itinerary to do so. When making a change, follow the below steps.

  • Please carry out the procedures for changing flights on the ANA website.
  • Your pre-paid extra baggage charge will be refunded.
    • We will notify you by email when your refund has been successfully processed—this may take one or two days.
  • Please submit new pre-paid extra baggage requests for the flights you have changed.

Cancellations

Refunds can be provided after application. If you need to cancel your pre-paid baggage, follow the below steps.

  • Please carry out the procedures for canceling flights on the ANA website.
  • Your pre-paid extra baggage charge will be refunded.
    • We will notify you by email when your refund has been successfully processed—this may take one or two days.

Notes

  • The services are not available if your checked baggage includes items which exceed the size and weight limitations. In this instance, we kindly request that you check in your baggage at the airport counter.
  • If you would like to request a refund for the Pre-paid Extra Baggage charge only (and not for the flight itself), please contact ANA.

How to Pre-Order

You can pre-order a meal when making flight reservations on the ANA website. Meals must be pre-ordered no later than 24 hours prior to departure. Please note that pre-orders and service inquiries cannot be made by phone.

  • This service will not be available if our pre-order limit has been reached. In such cases, we kindly ask you to choose your meal onboard.

Eligible Flights

For meals from June to August:
  • Passengers on flights departing from Tokyo to North America (excluding Honolulu), Mexico, Europe (excluding Vladivostok) and Perth may also select Restaurant Ryuzu served on Asia Routes 1 and India routes for their Western food.
  • Passengers on flights departing from Tokyo to the Asia 1 region and India may also select Ginza Hyakuraku served on North America (excluding Honolulu), Mexico, Europe (excluding Vladivostok) and Perth routes for their Japanese food.
Note:
  • Passengers selecting a menu served on another route will receive the appetizer and the main course from that menu, but the amuse and dessert from the menu served on their flight.
  • The vegetable-heavy menu is not a vegetarian option. To reserve a vegetarian meal, please visit our Meals page and search for Special Meals.
  • Asia Routes 1: Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur

If you have purchased a seat with a reservation fee and wish to change to a different seat, the procedure to do so will vary depending on where you made your original purchase.

Changing to Another Seat on the Same Flight
Regarding changing from a seat with a reservation fee to a seat with a reservation fee.

  • Cancel your purchase of the seat with a reservation fee, and then request a new a seat with a reservation fee and pay the applicable charges.
  • The EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) for the original seat purchase will then be refunded.

Changes are accepted upon adjusting the difference in charges between the new seat with a reservation fee and the EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) for the seat you have already purchased.
Regarding changing from a seat with a reservation fee to a seat with no reservation fee.
  • You can change to a seat with no reservation fee on the ANA website or by contacting an ANA customer service center.
  • If the EMD you have already purchased is within its term of validity and the terms and conditions are satisfied, it can be used to make a Paid Advance Seat Reservation request for a different flight.
  • If you wish to use your Paid Advance Seat Reservation for a different flight, please contact an ANA customer service center no later than 48 hours prior to the departure of the relevant international flight.

Refund

Refunds are generally not available after purchase, except under limited circumstances.

Points to Note

  • Paid Advance Seat Reservation is applicable to seat types and is not a definite promise of a particular seat number.
  • The reserved seat number is therefore subject to change to a different one of the same seat type for reasons such as aircraft changes. If your seat is changed and you would like to confirm this change or request a different seat, you can do so on the ANA website or by contacting an ANA customer service center.
    • Please note that we may not be able to accommodate your request depending on seat availability.
  • If your Paid Advance Seat is changed to a regular seat due to aircraft changes and such, your EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) will be refunded at the ticketing counter.
    The refund process will take several days and you will be notified by email once it has been successfully processed. (No action required by you in the refund process.)
    If the seat type is changed (such as changing from another paid seat to an adjacent emergency exit seat), your EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) is still valid for use.
    However, if the seat adjacent to the emergency exit is changed to another paid seat, the difference will be refunded.
    Refunds are processed after the completion of a trip, so please contact the EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) ticketing office.
  • Refund procedures cannot be performed at airport counters.
  • Please note that it may take approximately two to three months before the refund is credited to your account.
  • The deadline for changing from a seat with a reservation fee that you have already purchased to a different seat is 48 hours prior to the departure of the relevant international flight. However, you can also change to a different seat if you wish to do so during online check-in or boarding procedures at the airport, providing that there is a seat available. In this instance, however, the EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) for the seat with a reservation fee that you have already purchased will be considered used and will therefore not be refundable or available for use for other flights.
  • If your travel class is changed after the deadline (e.g., if you had an upgrade), the EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) you have already purchased for a seat with a reservation fee will be considered used and will therefore not be refundable or available for use for other flights.
  • Emergency exit row seats are available only to passengers who satisfy all the required conditions to assist during an emergency evacuation under the instruction of the cabin attendants and must store belongings in overhead compartments. Passengers who do not meet all the conditions will be requested to change their seat.
  • You cannot purchase a seat with a reservation fee upon using Keep My Fare on the ANA website. Please make your seat reservations after purchasing your tickets.

How to Use the In-flight Duty Free Pre-order Service

Our In-flight Duty Free Pre-order Service allows you to order duty free products available on board our flights before departure, and this page provides information on how to use it.

  • Special Notice of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)
    Our in-flight duty free sales service and pre-order service for international flights will restart as of December 10, 2020. In consideration of hygiene, we will implement the following infection prevention measures.
    • You can confirm the items on sale on your seat monitor.
    • If you wish to view the ANA SKY SHOP magazine, please ask a cabin attendant.
    • We will accept orders on board via the seat monitors.
      * If unsupported aircraft, please use the order form.
    • The handling of cash on board will be discontinued. Only credit cards, ANA Gift Cards/ANA Travel Vouchers and ANA Value Vouchers (incl. ANA Diamond Service Domestic/International In-Flight Sales Coupons) can be used for purchases made on board.

How to Use the Service

Step 1 must be completed up to boarding. For this step, reserve a flight ticket and then place a pre-order on the website (you can order up to 10 items). Lastly, you will receive an email confirming whether or not your ordered items have been secured for you. Step 2 must be completed on the departure date. For this step, please inform a cabin attendant of your order after boarding.* You will then receive your ordered items after paying for them.
  • * Please show a copy of the email confirming your secured products or provide your pre-order number. You may not receive your products if you do not inform a cabin attendant of your order.

How to Place an Order

Please reserve and purchase a flight ticket in advance.

STEP1: Go to the Service menu on the reservation confirmation page and press In-flight Duty Free Pre-order.
STEP2: Select your preferred flight from those available and proceed to the product pre-order page.

Orders can be placed any time from the 22nd of the month prior to the departure date up to 23:59 three days prior (JST) for both Japan and non-Japan departures.

Example: If your departure date is on April 1, you can place an order from March 22 up to 23:59 on March 29 (JST).

Passengers who reserve and purchase a ticket for an ANA Group-operated international flight (NH/NQ) under an ANA flight number through the ANA website, official ANA App, ANA International Reservation and Customer Service Center or a travel agency. (Excluding purchases made on the Mexico and Italy site.)

Points to Note before Placing an Order
Up to 10 Items Per Passenger Per Flight (Some Exclusions Apply)

There is a limit to the number of orders that can be accepted for one flight due to loading space. For this reason, there may be occasions when you cannot place an order.

Carry-on Baggage Restrictions

The carrying of liquids on board is restricted in accordance with instructions from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
Restrictions are also in place for the handling of duty free items.

New Orders Required Upon Changing Flights

Existing pre-orders are not updated automatically along with flight ticket reservation changes.
Please cancel your existing pre-order before changing your reservation, and then place a new one afterwards.
