Changes and Refunds

Please note that, if you have purchased a seat with a reservation fee and wish to change to a different seat, the procedure to do so will vary depending on where you made your original purchase.

  • Changes cannot be made at airport counters.

When Changing to Another Seat on the Same Flight

Changing to another seat with a reservation fee

Cancel your purchase of the seat with a reservation fee, and then request a new a seat with a reservation fee and pay the applicable charges. The EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) for the original seat purchase will then be refunded.

  • We will notify you by email when your refund has been successfully processed. (Please note that this may take one or two days.)

Changes are accepted upon adjusting the difference in charges between the new seat with a reservation fee and the EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) for the seat you have already purchased.

Changing to a seat with no reservation fee

You can change to a seat with no reservation fee on the ANA website or by contacting an ANA customer service center.
If the EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) you have already purchased is within its term of validity and the terms and conditions are satisfied, it can be used to make a Paid Advance Seat Reservation request for a different flight.
If you wish to use your Paid Advance Seat Reservation for a different flight, please contact an ANA customer service center no later than 48 hours prior to the departure of the relevant international flight.

When Changing Flights

Requesting a seat with a reservation fee

Refunds

Refunds are not available after purchase, except under limited circumstances (see "Points to Note").

Points to Note

  • Paid Advance Seat Reservation is applicable to seat types and is not a definite promise of a particular seat number.
    The reserved seat number is therefore subject to change to a different one of the same seat type for reasons such as aircraft changes. If your seat is changed and you would like to confirm this change or request a different seat, you can do so on the ANA website or by contacting an ANA customer service center. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate your request depending on seat availability.
  • If your selected seat type is changed to a different type for reasons attributable to the airline, or if your flight is cancelled for reasons attributable to the airline, the charges for the seat you have already purchased will be refunded.
    • Refund procedures cannot be performed at airport counters.
  • The deadline for changing from a seat with a reservation fee that you have already purchased to a different seat is 48 hours prior to the departure of the relevant international flight. However, you can also change to a different seat if you wish to do so during online check-in or boarding procedures at the airport, providing that there is a seat available. In this instance, however, the EMD (Electronic Miscellaneous Document) for the seat with a reservation fee that you have already purchased will be considered used and will therefore not be refundable or available for use for other flights.
  • Emergency exit row seats are available only to passengers who satisfy all the required conditions.
    • Passengers seated in emergency exit row seats must store all their belongings in the overhead compartments.
    • Passengers seated in emergency exit row seats will be requested to assist during an emergency evacuation under the instruction of the cabin attendants.
    • Passengers who do not meet all the conditions will be requested to change their seat.
  • You cannot purchase a seat with a reservation fee upon using Keep My Fare on the ANA website. Please make your seat reservations after purchasing your tickets.
