Metrorail Silver Line
From IAD Washington Dulles International Airport station to Washington D.C. Metrorail subway stations (e.g. Metro Center, Farragut West)
Boarding point: Silver Line Washington Dulles International Airport station is on the other side of the parking lot. There are underground passages to the station from Door 2 and Door 6 outside of the first floor exit in the main terminal, and it is a 7-minute walk. From the station, take the Metrorail heading for Downtown Largo on the Silver Line to Washington D.C. Metrorail subway stations.
Time required: 50 to 80 minutes
Fare: $2.50 to 6.75 (Smart card: You must buy a smart card for $2 card and charge $8 to the card)
Operating hours: Mon to Fri 5:00 to 23:10 (to 0:10 on Fri), Sat 7:00 to 0:11, Sun 7:00 to 23:11 on Sun (10 to 15 minute intervals).
Taxi
Platform: Take taxis from the taxi rank directly outside the main terminal at door 2 and door 6 of the curb side.
Time required: 45 to 75 minutes (depending on the destination or on traffic conditions)
Fare: For the Washington Flyer Taxi, it is $70 to 90 within Washington, D.C. (an additional $4 surcharge is added for airport pickups. tip is separate and should be 15-20% of the fare)
Operating hours: 24 hours
You can also use rideshare apps on your smartphone, like Uber, Lyft, etc.The pickup location is the second one from 3A to 3H after exiting the first floor.
