On the 1st Floor of Terminal 5 where you will arrive, there are immigration, baggage claim, customs and 1-STOP lanes. Passengers with a connection on American Airlines (AA) or United Airlines (UA) should proceed to the connection baggage counter for that airline. There are also Information and currency exchange and outside the exit there are areas for boarding/alighting buses and taxis. Passengers traveling between the terminals should take the escalator to the shuttle station Airport Transit System (ATS) between terminals.

On the ATS Level of the Terminal 1 where you will depart from, there is a station for the monorail (Airport Transit System) that goes around all the terminals in the airport. Take an escalator from that station to the Upper Level and there is an ANA check-in and ticketing counters to perform check-in procedures. After the procedures, please proceed to the security check or fast track security screening. After passing through, on Concourse B, there are Information and United Club. Further on, on Concourse C, there are another United Club and the Polaris Lounge.

On the 1st Floor arrival floor of Terminal 5, there are the American Airlines (AA) connection baggage counter, United Airlines (UA) connection baggage counter, Information and currency exchange. There is also an escalator to the shuttle station Airport Transit System (ATS) between terminals. Outside of Exit 5E, there is a shuttle bus station between terminals.
Transiting From ANA to Other Airlines About the transfer between terminals
ATS (Airport Transit System) and Airside BUS are available to transfer between terminals.
Collecting baggage
If you are arriving on an international flight, you need to clear US Customs checkpoints before entering the United States and collect your baggage (even if you're in transit and have connecting flights).
Connecting flights or transfers
If you have a connecting flight with United Airlines or American Airlines, you also need to recheck/drop your baggage at the recheck counters which are located outside of the U.S Customs processing area before heading through the arrivals hall.
If you have a connecting flight with any other airlines, recheck/drop your baggage with your connecting airline at the recheck counters according to the instructions from the airlines.

Terminal 1, the ANA departure terminal, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, and Terminal 5, the ANA arrival terminal, are connected by the Airport Transit System (ATS), a shuttle service between terminals. There is also a shuttle bus stop for airport hotels located in between Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

CTA Train Blue Line
from ORD to Any CTA train station in downtown Chicago (such as Washington, Clark/Lake etc.)
Boarding point: CTA Blue Line station "O'Hare" is on the lower level of Terminal 2. The Blue Line travels above ground in the suburbs and below ground in the downtown area. For travel from the International Terminal to Terminal 2, the ATS tram that connects the terminals can be used. ATS is free and operates 24-hour, 3 to 5 minute intervals.
Time required: Approx. 40 minutes
Fare: One way $5 (Inner city to Midway Airport is $2.50 to 3)
Operating hours: 24 hours (15 to 20 minute intervals.Late at night 20 to 30 minute)
Taxi
Platform: Around the curbside area 5A-5B after exiting the baggage claim floor. There are usually staff present.
Time required: 25 to 75 minutes (depending on the destination, on traffic conditions)
Fare: $55 to $85 (Tips are separate and are about 15 to 20% of the fare)
Operating hours: 24 hours
You can also use rideshare apps on your smartphone, like Uber, Lyft, etc.The pickup area is not located in the international terminal, but is located curbside outside doors 2A to 2E on the departure floor (2nd floor) of domestic terminal 2. Please note that from the international terminal to Terminal 2, you will be traveling by ATS tram, which connects the terminals. ATS is free and runs every 3-5 minutes 24 hours a day.
