Guide for facilities in Chicago O'Hare International Airport

Since the boarding gate check-in counters might be subject to change, please check at the airport to the day of departure.

  • Temporary closure of Airport Transit System(Train)
    From January 8, 2019, ATS will be closed due to terminal renovation.
    There will be a shuttle bus service that will operate between Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5 for 24 hours a day.

Please present your passport, Immigration Card, and Customs Declaration Form.
*You are requested to submit the Customs Declaration Form even if you have nothing to declare.Only one Customs Declaration Form is required per family.
*Submitting the paper form I-94W (Immigration Card) for authorized travelers from nations participating in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), with an approved Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), has been eliminated.
Passengers who obtained "Electronic System for Travel Authorization" to enter the country can use APC (Automated Passport Control).

Customs

Carry-on luggage inspection Passengers who do not check in baggage can also use "1-STOP" lane (only in the afternoon).For details, see here.

Temporary closure of Airport Transit System(Train).
For customers connecting to domestic flights, please use the shuttle bus service from the 5E exit of the first floor arrival lobby.

Please get on the "Terminal only" shuttle bus.
Route:Terminal 5 → Terminal 1 → Terminal 2 → Terminal 3 → Terminal 5
It takes about 20 minutes from Terminal 5 to Terminal 1 when traffic jams occur.

Please make sure to pick up your baggage.

*All customers are required to pass through the immigration control and custom inspection checkpoints.(The same applies to cases when the final destination is not in the U.S.)
*Your checked-in baggage must be picked up after completing immigration control.(Please make sure to pick up the baggage even when the final destination is printed on the tag of your baggage.)

Please check in your baggage again at the connecting airline.

Please note that check-in locations differ according to each connecting airline.

[When connecting to UA (United Airlines), AA (American Airlines)]
Since the connecting counter of UA is located at the far end right side before the exit from Customs and that of AA counter at the left side (See Fig. 1), please check in your baggage here again.(Check-in services are also available here.)

[When connecting to AC (Air Canada) or DL (Delta Air Lines)]
You can check in the baggage at the baggage belt before the connecting counter of UA.(This applies only to the case where the baggage tag shows the final destination.)
*Please receive your boarding pass at the appropriate airline check-in counter in the departure lobby.

[When connecting to any other airline]
You can check in the baggage at the baggage belt before the connecting counter of AA.(This applies only to the case where the baggage tag shows the final destination.)
*Please receive your boarding pass at the appropriate airline check-in counter in the departure lobby.

Please confirm the terminal where your connecting flight departs from, at one of the information boards located throughout the airport.

・Passengers who arrive at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 must proceed directly to the departure gate.
・Passengers who arrive at other terminals must proceed to the ANA check-in counter of Terminal 1.
