Airport Shuttle Van

Prime Time Shuttle (ride-share, reservation required)

Get on at LAX-it next to Terminal 1. To get to LAX-it, take the LAX-it shuttle bus that travels to each terminal. (running every 3 to 5 minutes, free) or walk from Terminal 1.

  • Boarding point: from Zone 1A(Opoli) of LAX-it
  • Time Required: Approx. 30 to 60 minutes (depending on the destination or on traffic conditions)
  • Fare: Santa Monica from $30, from $45 to get downtown, Hollywood $40
  • Operating hours: 24 hours a day

Bus

Flyaway

from LAX to Union Station (Downtown LA). As of November 2024, buses to Hollywood have suspended service.

  • Platform: Outside of each terminal on the 1st floor, next to the column with the blue LAX FlyAway sign.
  • Time Required: Approx. 30 to 60 minutes (depending on traffic conditions)
  • Fare: One way 9.75. The only payment methods are credit card that support contactless payment, smartphone app, or TAP card. Cash is not accepted.Tickets can also be purchased in advance on the website.
  • Operating hours: for Union Station every day 5:40 to 1:10 (following day) (30 minute intervals)

LAX Shuttle and Big Blue Bus No.3

from LAX to Santa Monica

  • Boarding point: When you exit 1st floor of each terminal, go to the LAX City Bus Center from next to the column with the pink LAX Shuttles sign. From there, take the Big Blue Bus to Santa Monica.
  • Time required: Approx. 50 to 60 minutes (depending on the traffic conditions)
  • Fare: LAX Shuttle Route: free. Big Blue Bus is $1.25 when paying in cash and $1.10 with the Tap card or Tap app on your smartphone
  • Operating hours: Big Blue Bus No.3: Mon. to Fri. 5:04 to 22:53 (15 to 20 minute intervals), Sat & Sun. 5:11 to 22:54 (15 to 30 minute intervals)

Taxi

  • Boarding point: There are three taxi stands. The Parking Lot 3 in front of the International Terminal and Terminal 3, the end of Terminal 7, and the LAX-it taxi stand. The LAX-it taxi stand is next to Terminal 1. To get there, walk if you are already in Terminal 1 or take the LAX-it Shuttle Bus that travels to each terminal if you are in another terminal (runs every 3 to 5 minutes, free)
  • Time required: 30 to 60 minutes (depending on the destination or on traffic conditions)
  • Fare: Santa Monica about $50, Downtown $51.15 (Flat rate from the airport to downtown. From the airport additional $4 when departing from the airport. Tips are separate and are about 15 to 20% of the fare)
  • Operating hours: 24 hours a day
  • You can also use rideshare apps on your smartphone, like Uber, Lyft, etc. The pickup location is on the departures level (3rd floor) at the first island past doors 3 and 4.
