Arriving at Terminal 2 Satellite

After arriving, go up to the Arrivals Level (Level 6), follow the signs to the baggage claim area, and the immigration area is on your left. After immigration, down to Level 1 and take the shuttle to baggage claim to pick up your baggage.

Arriving at Terminal 2

There is immigration control on Level 5 (H-Level) after going down from Level 6 (arrival level). After immigration, please proceed to the ground floor (Level 3) via G-level (Level 4) to collect your luggage and go through customs.

Passport Control and Inspection

Please present passport.(A Disembarkation Card is not necessary when entering Germany.)

Please follow the red line for customers who need to submit a tax application at Customs or the green line for customers who do not need to make a declaration.

Letter of Consent is required for the travelers under the age of 18 entering / departing from Germany without parents / guardians. Please see the link below to confirm the details.

The way to check-in counter from arrival area of bus and taxi

Airport map information
Passengers arriving by train can enter the terminal on Ground Floor (Level 3). Passengers arriving by taxi or bus can enter the terminal on G-level (Level 4). ANA check-in counters are located on Ground Floor (Level 3). After check-in, please proceed to security inspection. A priority security lane is available. Passengers with items in their checked baggage for which they wish to apply for VAT refunds should first check in at the ANA check-in counter, then bring their baggage to customs with a checked baggage tag attached. Have your VAT refund application form stamped and drop off the baggage at customs (Zoll). Refunds are available at the tax refund counter.*1 Going up to Level 5 (H-Level), there are immigration booths. After passing through immigration, there is an application counter for VAT refunds for carry-on baggage (Zoll). Have your VAT refund application form stamped and then receive the refund at the tax refund counter. A tax refund counter (Global Blue) is located near Gate H30.
Please take the shuttle to Terminal 2 Satellite, where the departure gates are located. There are also the Lufthansa Senator Lounge and the Lufthansa Business Lounge in Terminal 2 Satellite.

Arriving at Terminal 2

Passengers connecting from ANA to Germany domestic flights or Schengen Agreement countries (Boarding gate initial letter: G or K)

Please check the boarding gate for your connecting flight. Please go down one floor (H-LEVEL) from the arrival floor and proceed along the letter "G" or "K", which is the initial letter of the boarding gate. At Munich Airport, there are immigration and security inspections as well as customs inspections for carry-on baggage. Then, please proceed to the boarding gate for your connecting flight. If the boarding gate for your connecting flight is K-Gate, take the shuttle to the satellite terminal, then proceed to the K-Level boarding gate.

Passengers connecting from ANA to flights to non-Schengen Agreement countries (Boarding gate initial letter: H or L)

Please check the boarding gate for your connecting flight. Please go down to the next floor (H-LEVEL) from the arrival floor and proceed along the letter "H" or "L", which is the initial letter of the boarding gate. After passing through the security check, if the boarding gate for your connecting flight is H-Gate, please proceed directly to the H-Level boarding gate. If the boarding gate for your connecting flight is L-Gate, take the shuttle train to the satellite terminal, then proceed to the L-Gate boarding gate. (In either case, there is no need to go through immigration inspection at Munich Airport.)

Arriving at Terminal 2 Satellite

Passengers connecting from ANA to Germany domestic flights or Schengen Agreement countries (Boarding gate initial letter: G or K)

After passing through security on Level 6, take the escalator down to Level 5 and follow the initial letter of the boarding gate "G or K". After immigration, if the boarding gate for your connecting flight is G-Gate, take the shuttle to Terminal 2 (Gates G, H), then proceed to the G-Gate boarding gate.

Follow the signs for “Gate L” from the arrival floor, go up to L-Level, go through passport control, and then proceed to the ANA boarding gate. If you arrive at Terminal 2, please take the shuttle to the Satellite Terminal, go through passport control, and then proceed to the ANA boarding gate.

Passengers connecting from non-Schengen Agreement countries to ANA flights

The boarding gate will vary depending on the country of departure. In all cases, please follow the signs for “Gate L” and proceed to the boarding gate for your ANA flight. If you arrive at Terminal 2, please take the shuttle to the Satellite Terminal and then proceed to the boarding gate for your ANA flight. Depending on the country of departure, security checks may be carried out.

About the Schengen Agreement

The establishment of the EU and the tying of the Schengen Agreement have greatly simplified entry and departure procedures within Europe. The Schengen Agreement was first signed in 1985 in Schengen, a small town in Luxembourg, and implemented in 1995.

Once a Japanese national has arrived at one of country, travel within the country is treated as "internal (domestic)" travel.

The entry procedures for Japanese nationals are as follows.

Disembarkation (entry) procedures

When traveling to a Schengen country via another Schengen country Entry procedures are taken only in the first country of arrival.

Customs inspection for carry-on baggage is made at the first country of arrival and at the final destination for checked-in baggage.

Example: Haneda(Japan) to Madrid(Spain) via Frankfurt(Germany)

Entry procedures and customs inspection for carry-on baggage is processed in Frankfurt(Germany). Customs inspection for checked-in baggage is processed in Madrid(Spain).

Embarkation (departure) procedures

When traveling from a Schengen country via another Schengen country.

The departure procedures are taken only in the last Schengen country to be departed from. The customs inspection is made at the destination country.

Example: Madrid(Spain) to Haneda(Japan) via Frankfurt(Germany)

The departure procedures are taken in Frankfurt(Germany), and customs inspection done in Haneda(Japan).
