GrabTaxi

GrabTaxi that can be called from a smartphone app requires no haggling over fares and is cheaper than taxis that require haggling. Drivers are rated in the app, so service is generally good. If you register, you can also pay by credit card. It is very useful for traveling through the city as well, so we recommend smartphone users to download the app. If you register your credit card in advance, payment can be completed through the app, requiring no exchange of cash with the driver. Although you can register while in Japan, some people have found that the registration information was gone when they arrived in Myanmar. Be sure to check before using.

  • Time required: Approx. 30 to 40 minutes to the center of downtown early in the morning or at night; however, it may take 1.5 to 2 hours during the day and afternoons during traffic jams.
  • Fare: 23000 Kyat to central downtown.
  • Operating hours: 24 hours

It uses the same buses as the city route buses, and you get on at the front and off at the back. There are 2 routes. one route passes along Kabar Aye Pagoda Rd. on the east side of the city and the other passes along Pyay Rd. on the west side. There are two routes and they both pass through terminate at the Sule Pagoda in the middle of the downtown area. Displayed on the sign at the top of the front of the bus. Also displayed in English.
