Safety Assurance

1. Management Review

The ANA Group's top management, including the president, conducts management reviews to ensure that the safety management system is functioning effectively. By regularly and continuously evaluating safety-related policies and various types of information, and directing improvements to be made in response to issues, the ANA Group's safety performance is further strengthened.

2. Internal Safety Audit

Through audits, ANA Group objectively evaluates and seeks corrective actions, whether the safety management system is adapted to and effectively functioning in accordance with national and company safety standards as well as international safety standards.

3. Code Share Audit

For domestic airlines operating with ANA domestic code-share flights, audits are conducted in accordance with IOSA to confirm safety levels.

4. Independent Evaluation

4-1 On-site Safety Audit by the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism

On-site Safety Audit by the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism

We undergo on-site safety audits conducted by the Civil Aviation Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and promptly implement corrective measures when items are pointed out.
Information related to on-site safety audits are shared with Group companies to promote safety throughout the Group.

4-2 IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit)

ANA, ANA wings, and Air Japan in ANA Group have undergone the biennial renewal audit of IOSA, an international safety management standards audit program conducted by IATA, and continue to maintain their registration of IOSA standards compliance.

5. Flight Data Analysis Program

In order to maintain safe operations and improve operational quality, we are implementing safety activities using flight data for all ANA flights. By analyzing and evaluating accumulated flight data, we identify issues related to flight safety and take appropriate measures as necessary. In addition to providing feedback to all flight crews through periodic reports, in recent years we have provided tools that enable flight crews to look back on their own flights as video clips reproduced from flight data, and to objectively grasp their own flight operation tendencies by aggregating data from a certain period of time. We are expanding our activities to include multifaceted flight safety measures that allow flight crews to deepen their own learning.

6. Response to Aviation Accidents and Serious Incidents

In the event of an aviation accident or serious incident as defined by the Civil Aeronautics Act, an investigation committee is established within the company, composed of top management from each operational department, to investigate the facts, determine the cause, formulate recommendations for countermeasures, and prepare an investigation report, for the purpose of preventing the recurrence of similar events and mitigating the effects of the occurrence of such events. Upon receiving the report of the Investigation Committee, the President evaluates recurrence prevention measures and preventive measures and approves their implementation. In addition, ANA group will cooperate with accident and serious incident investigations conducted by domestic and foreign public investigation organizations, with the aim of contributing to the prevention of recurrence of similar events and mitigation of the effects of such events. These procedures are stipulated in the Annex to the Safety Management Manuals.
