Safety Policy and Objectives

1. Safety Targets

ANA sets safety targets in the Safety Management System (SMS) in its annual plan to achieve the safety status to be achieved. The targets and results for each fiscal year are published in the ANA Group Safety Report.

2. Measurement by Safety Performance Indicator

ANA monitors safety performance (execution capability and actual performance) to determine the state of safety risk. To evaluate the achievement of safety targets, ANA sets safety indicators and safety target values, monitors trends in safety performance, and implements improvements in safety performance. These procedures are stipulated in the Annex to the Safety Management Manuals.

3. ANA Group Aviation Safety and Aviation Security Policy

ANA Group has established an action policy on aviation safety and security, and conducts safety promotion activities.
In fiscal 2025, we will carry out activities to promote safety and enhance security by establishing the following priority themes.

Priority Themes

1. Fostering a Positive Safety Culture and Security Culture

We will foster a proactive safety and security culture that will lead to concrete safety actions by each and every ANA Group employee.

In particular, we will focus on fostering a "Just culture" and a "Reporting culture", encouraging the provision of safety information and making ongoing efforts to ensure that each individual can report safety information without hesitation.
  • *1.Just culture: A culture in which any potential negative factors, no matter who was involved, are not left unchecked and are handled with sincerity.
  • *2. Reporting culture: A culture in which anyone can proactively report safety information, whether good or bad, to the organization without hesitation.

2. Maintenance and assurance of skills to support safety

Focusing on the skills of each employee to realize basic quality, we will promote initiatives to maintain safety and basic quality in each department and workplace, including education and training, daily operations, organizational culture, and management.

In particular, we will work to create an organization that enhances psychological safety so that each and every employee can see other people's safety-related cases as his or her own and act accordingly, as well as provide appropriate guidance and assertions.

3. Establishment and Strengthening of Change Management

We will reinforce our risk management capabilities by strengthening and establishing change management. We aim to achieve a state in which change management is being implemented "without omission," "reliably," and "efficiently" throughout the entire company.

  • *3.Change management: A method to identify and evaluate hazards and safety risks arising from changes in the business environment, introduction of new systems, and changes in procedures, and to implement necessary preventive measures.

4. Evolution of Safety Risk Management

We will establish proactive, predictive management methods by verifying risk management methods based on global standards, and identify problems not only from our own safety information, but also from other information sources from around the world.

We also aim to establish a management system that improves safety throughout the industry in cooperation with the national government and other airlines.

5. Introduction of an international standard Security Management System (SeMS)

In response to the heightened risks associated with the unstable international situation, we will promote the globalization and functional enhancement of our security management system. We will also promote "Aviation Cyber Security" activities to contribute to safe aircraft operations and strengthen our response to various threats.
