Rules for Changes and Refunds for Japan Domestic Flights

The rules for changes and refunds are explained below.
Note that if the reservation contains reserved flights for two or more segments, such as a round-trip itinerary or transfer (using connecting airports), any change or refund will be made for all reserved flights on that reservation, even if the change or refund is made for a reserved flight in only one of the segments. (Changes or refunds cannot be made only for specific reserved flights.)
Changes and refunds are based on Japan Standard Time.
The service will be applicable to flights boarding on/after May 19, 2026.

1. Changes

(1) Before beginning your trip

The difference between the fare amounts before and after the change will be charged along with the reservation change fee*1 specified for each fare. (See here for details on charges)
If you have a reservation for a round-trip or transfer (using connecting airports) itinerary, even if changes are made only to one segment, the entire reservation record, including flights without changes, will be recalculated. If all segments up to the arrival point cannot be reinstated, the recalculation cannot be performed and your reservation cannot be changed.

  • * 1

Some fares may not require a reservation change fee.

    Example

A Standard round trip is purchased on June 1, with an outbound part (July 1, ANA 253, Haneda to Fukuoka) and an inbound part (October 3, ANA 258, Fukuoka to Haneda).
If the outbound and inbound flights are changed on July 1, the fare amount valid on the start date of the trip (July 3) will be applied on the change date (July 1).

Applicable Fare Amount

On the change date, the fare amount valid on the start date of the trip will be applied to the entire itinerary. (The booking class and seasonality of each flight will apply to the outbound and return flight boarding dates.)

Applicable Reservation Change fee

The applicable reservation change fee  corresponds to the number of days before departure between the departure date before the reservation change and the date of the change.
When making changes to the outbound and inbound flights at the same time, a reservation change fee of only (1) or (2) of the following, whichever is higher, will be charged.

  1. The reservation change fee corresponding to the number of days before departure between the outbound departure date before the reservation change and the date the change is made.

  2. The reservation change fee corresponding to the number of days before departure between the return departure date before the reservation change and the date the change is made.

(2) After beginning your trip

The difference between the fare amounts before and after the change will be charged along with the reservation change fee*1 specified for each fare. (See here for details on charges)
If you have a reservation for a round-trip or transfer (using connecting airports) itinerary, even if changes are made only to one segment, the entire reservation record, including flights without changes, will be recalculated.

  • * 1

Some fares may not require a reservation charge fee.

    Example

A Standard round trip is purchased on June 1, with an outbound part (July 1, ANA 253, Haneda to Fukuoka) and an inbound part (October 3, ANA 258, Fukuoka to Haneda).
If the inbound flight is changed on July 3, the fare amount valid on the start date of the trip (July 1) will be applied to the inbound flight on the purchase date (June 1).

Applicable Fare Amount

On the purchase date, the fare amount valid on the start date of the trip will be applied to the segment that is being changed.(The booking class and seasonality of each flight will apply to the outbound and return flight boarding dates.)

Applicable Reservation Change fee

The applicable reservation change fee  corresponds to the number of days before departure between the departure date before the reservation change and the date of the change.

2. Refunds

(1) Before beginning your trip

A cancellation fee specified for each fare will be incurred in the event that a ticket is canceled. (See here for details on charges)
Some segments are not refundable. After the refund of the entire reservation record is made, please make a new purchase for the required segments.

Example

Even if the refund is applied only on the outbound flight on July 1, the inbound flight will be refunded at the same time, so a new inbound flight must be purchased.

Applicable Cancellation Fee

The number of days between the departure date of the outbound flight and the date the refund is made will be taken into account, and a cancellation fee will be incurred for the fare amount of the entire reservation record.

(2) After beginning your trip

The refund amount is obtained by subtracting the charge for the fare amount of the entire reservation record (including used segments) from the difference between the fare amount of the entire reservation record (including used segments) and the fare applicable to the used segments. The amount to be refunded may be calculated as zero. (See here for details on charges)

Example

A Standard 28 round trip is purchased on June 15, with an outbound part (July 1, ANA 253, Haneda to Fukuoka) and an inbound part (October 3, ANA 258, Fukuoka to Haneda).
If a refund is made on the inbound flight on July 3, the outbound flight is deemed to have been used at one-way fare amount.

Applicable Cancellation Fee

If the itinerary is partially used, a cancellation fee will be incurred for the fare amount of the entire reservation record.

(3) Non-Refundable Cases

Refunds requested for cases in which the used segments do not form an itinerary will not be accepted.

Example

A refund of the last segment of a ticket including a round-trip itinerary and one or more transfers (using connecting airports) on the inbound journey and the outbound flight and the first segment of inbound flights have already been used.

Please contact the ANA Domestic Reservations and Customer Service Center if you have any inquiries regarding changes and refunds.
