continue meeting challenges positively, the ANA Group is developing human assets able to understand diverse cultures, customs and values. We have designated the three years ending March 2014 as the period of the ANA Global Talent Program 2011 to strengthen the focused and deliberate cultivation and deployment of global human assets. In the fiscal year ended March 2012, the first year of the program, initiatives to expand opportunities to interact with other cultures included overseas assignment of new domestic hires, intensive training for select employees, introduction of an internal recruitment system for overseas short-term postings, transfer of overseas hires to workplaces in Japan, cross-cultural seminars, and the addition of new languages to our language training. Moreover, through activities such as multiple joint training sessions for domestic and overseas hires, we are shortening the sense of distance between domestic and overseas offices, and enhancing the environment under which ANA Group employees come together to undertake challenges.
The ANA Group provides a full range of self-study opportunities based on a personnel policy of supporting independent personal growth. We work to cultivate people who can support the Group through a complete set of specialized training programs for flight crew, cabin crew, maintenance staff and others involved in day-to-day aircraft operations. In keeping with our commitment to respecting people, believing in their potential, and carefully nurturing them, in 2007 the Group established a division responsible for nurturing human assets, ANA JINZAI (Human Assets) University, to provide consistent growth opportunities for Group employees from the start of employment until retirement. This division conducts groupwide training at each level and offers a total of 297 self-development courses including open seminars and correspondence courses. Trainees from Group companies gather and network while deepening their understanding of shared values and roles. This creates a mindset unique to the Group and cultivates people who can generate value not found at other companies.
In addition, each ANA Group company separately nurtures new hires by quickly fostering Group values through the use of shared teaching materials that provide fundamental knowledge about the Group. Moreover, the ANA Group implemented posted recruitment of Group human assets in 2011 to help employees develop their own careers. To date, 16 divisions have actively promoted people who have used this resource. Through these training measures, the ANA Group supports employee career development and creates an environment in which all employees can exercise their capabilities to the fullest in their respective roles.
