    About the Service

    Upgrade Points can be used to upgrade to premium Class on domestic routes (ANA Group operated flights) and to upgrade to Premium Economy (ANA Group operated flights only), Business Class and First Class on international routes (ANA Group operated flights / United Airlines operated flights).

      There are limited number of seats available for Upgrade Points.

      When boarding on a higher class of service after upgrade is used, flight miles will credited as the original ticketed booking class.

    • *

      Upgrading or use of Upgrade Points cannot be used on board.

    Guests within the second degree of kinship must be registered as Award Users in advance.

    Registration can be completed on the Award User Registration page on the ANA website, or via the Premium Members Service Desk.

    For lounge access for Japan domestic flights, registered award users must also be ANA Mileage Club members.


    Terms of Use・How to Use This Service

     Japan Domestic Flights (ANA Group operated flights)

    Upgrades are available for Japan domestic flight fares (including award tickets and the ANA Milege Club Companion Fare)*1 if a seat is available from two days prior to departure. Customers wishing to upgrade must have already reserved and purchased a ticket for an Economy Class seat on the relevant flight.

    Furthermore, if a reservation contains several customers when the upgrade request is made, all those customers must be ANA Mileage Club Members and will be subject to the upgrade. It is not possible for only some customers within the reservation to upgrade.

      Excluding domestic sectors on international flight tickets, open-ended tickets without a reservation, group fares and inclusive tour discount fares.

      This service is not available on routes that do not offer Premium Class.

    Reservation Desk

    Reservation and payment with Upgrade Points must be completed at some point between 00:00 2 days before departure and 20 minutes before the departure time.

    • *

      Upgrades cannot be made if the requisite number of points exceeds the amount remaining in your balance.

    • *

      Cancellation and Upgrade Point refund requests can be made via the ANA website or the Premium Members Service Desk.

    • *

      The requisite number of points will be deducted from your Upgrade Point balance at the same time your upgrade reservation is made.


    Procedures at the Airport on the Departure Date

    Primary member
    When using a self
    service check-in kiosk
    Follow the step by step procedure to on the screen.
    • Certain tickets such as pre-arranged group discount tickets, international airline tickets, and tickets issued by other airlines, is required to check-in at the counter.
    When a self service check-in
    kiosk cannot be used
    Please go to the check-in counter and request seat upgrade with Upgrade Points.
    When wait-listed for upgrade
    At the check-in counter, please request to be wait-listed for seat upgrade.
    You will be issued a ticket with a number after wait-list.
    Registered Award Users

    On the departure date, go to the check-in counter and request seat upgrade using Upgrade Points. The self service check-in kiosk cannot process upgrades.

    Information required at the check-in counter

    • Name of the person boarding the flight

    • Name of the Premium member

    • The Premium member's 10-digit ANA Mileage Club Membership Number


    International Flights (ANA Group operated flights )

    Available when boarding ANA Group operated flights.

     

    Airline ticket must be purchased and ticketed to be able to use Upgrade Points. Apply for higher class of service on eligible booking class.

      Upgrade awards for ineligible booking class and routes that are not displayed is not applicable.

      Economy class tickets cannot be upgraded to First Class.

    • *

      It may not be possible to make an additional reservation (double reservation) for air ticket(s) in the same class of service.

      Upgrade awards cannot be used on package tours and other applicable inclusive tour fares, or on ineligible booking classes.

      Class of service or seat upgrades cannot be used on award reservation tickets.

    When traveling on ANA international flights (ANA Group Operated flights and ANA flight number flights only) , ANA Diamond Service Members can upgrade by using double Upgrade Points with ineligible booking class. For details, please refer to the Exclusively for Diamond Service Members.

    When traveling on ANA international flights (ANA Group Operated flights and ANA flight number flights only) , ANA Diamond Service Members can upgrade by using double Upgrade Points with ineligible booking class. This service will apply when higher class availability requirement is met on the departure date. (such as meal, seat, amenity etc) When your travel is originating from Japan, upgrade request can be made at regular amount of Upgrade Points required for reservation ticketed on H class.

      Upgrades using double Upgrade Points are only available for use by members themselves, with the points being deducted from the member's own Upgrade Points. Registered award users will not be eligible for this service.

      This service is not available in reservation by awards.

    • *

      Once a reservation has been upgraded, it cannot be further upgraded to a higher class.

    How to apply

    1. Please be sure to contact the Diamond Service Desk the day before boarding date to request for this service.(Requests cannot be made on the ANA website).

    2. Upon checking in, please confirm upgrade service has been requested with the ANA staff at the airport counter on the day of departure.


    Reservation Desk

    You can apply from 355 days before your boarding day (not including the date of departure) until 24 hours before departure through the ANA website after logging in or contact the Premium member service desk*.

    However, when upgrade requirements are met at the airport (seats in a higher class, meals etc.), upgrade may be possible upon check-in counter on the day of departure.

      If you reside outside of Japan, please contact the nearest ANA Mileage Club Service Center.

    • *

      Reservation cannot be made if you do not have sufficient points.

    • *

      Please go to the ANA Website or contact the Premium Members Service Desk for cancellations or for Upgrade Point refund.

    • *

      After the reservation is confirmed, the Upgrade Points will be deducted from the member's account.


    How to proceed at the airport on the day of your flight
    When upgrade is confirmed
    Please follow the procedures using Online Check-in or the Self Service Check-in kiosk (for airports without machines, please go to the check-in counter).
    When wait-listed for upgrade
    Please use Online Check-in or the Self Service Check-in kiosk (for airports without machines, please go to the check-in counter). Seats may become available on the day of departure. Please confirm at the check-in counter. When seats are available on the day of boarding, check-in will be processed in the upgraded class.
    If the upgrade is not available, check-in will be arranged based on the class of the purchased ticket.
    When using on the day of
    departure.
    Upgrades are possible when the required conditions for upgrades (seats in a higher class, meals, etc.) are met. Please inquire at the check-in counter on the day of departure.

      We recommend making advance reservations due conditions may vary on the day of departure.

      If you are connecting from a flight operated by another airline, please ask an ANA staff member at the airport counter of your first ANA flight.

      The following departure tax differs according to boarding class. Upgrades using Upgrade Points are also subject to these duties.

      Please note that even if the ticket has been issued, tax based on boarding class must be paid at the airport.

      U.K. Air Passenger Duty: Applicable to passengers departing from any airport in the United Kingdom.

      French Air Passenger Solidarity Tax: Applicable to passengers departing from any airport in France.


    International Flights (United Airlines operated flights)

    Airline ticket must be purchased and ticketed to be able to use Upgrade Points. Apply for higher class of service on eligible booking class.

    Available used for 1 segment (one-way trip )

    Upgrade Points can be used starting at 4 points for a one-way (1 segment).


    Waitlisting

    It is possible to be waitlisted if there are no seats available upon the time of the upgrade application.

    About the Service

    Fares that go on sale on the designated sales date for each seasonal flight schedule will be available for reservation before general sale for flights operated by the ANA Group (ANA and ANA Wings) and codeshare flights reserved and boarded under an ANA flight number*. This service is also available to accompanying passengers boarding under the same reservation number.

    About the Service

    For Economy Class seat reservations on ANA Group-operated Japan domestic flights, primary members and accompanying passengers with the same reservation number are able to make priority reservations for their desired seats.
    Select your preference of seat to ensure a more pleasant time on board.
    Customers with Premium Member status can select and reserve from the range of seats available in Economy seats in advance.

    From the reservation date to the day of boarding (Ticket must be purchased for advance seat assignment within 2 days from boarding date)

    Even if your seat request is not available at the time of the reservation, additional seating will become available to selection at midnight 2 days prior to the departure date. However, if the flight is full or nearly full, additional seating options may not be available. When boarding, seats may be restricted to ensure seating is available for passengers with special needs and/or to manage the balance of the aircraft.

    About the Service

    Primary members and accompanying passengers on the same reservation or have been registered the companion information in advance will be exempt from advance seat reservation charges when traveling in Economy Class on ANA Group(ANA, AirJapan*1)operated international flights.
    To ensure a pleasant journey, select your own preference of seat such as one with easy access to the aisle, extra legroom, or next to your accompanying passengers.

    The waitlist reservation service is exclusively available to Diamond Service Members and registered Award Users using the Premium member's miles. With this service, said members and users can make waitlist reservations for Japan domestic flight awards for ANA Group-operated flights and codeshare flights reserved and boarded under an ANA flight number* via the the Diamond Service Desk.

    Waitlist reservation expiration date

    Two weeks starting from the waitlist reservation acceptance date or two weeks prior to departure, whichever is earliest.

    If a waitlist reservation is made on July 10 ② for a flight departing on July 31 ①, the reservation will be held up to and including July 17 ③, 14 days prior to the departure date.

    About the Service

    International flight award / international upgrade award reservations and waitlist reservations for flights operated by the ANA Group (ANA and AirJapan*1) will be given priority if the Premium member is using their own miles to board the flight. Reservations and waitlist reservations for accompanying passengers* using the the Premium member's miles and boarding under the same reservation number will also be given priority.

    When reservation changes are made through the Diamond Service Desk, the following charges will be waived for the Primary Member and guests.
