Safety is the foundation of the management of the ANA Group, whose many professional employees work together for customer safety and security. The following introduces some of the activities of these employees prior to takeoff.
2013/4/1
7:00AM: Before the customer arrives at the airport
Pre-takeoff inspection and maintenance
-
- Maintenance staff conduct careful inspections with a professional eye. For an aircraft's first inspection of the day, staff start the engine and make sure not to overlook even the smallest irregularity in areas such as systems and equipment, wing movement and tire pressure.
In-flight meal preparation and loading
-
- We offer customers food safety and security with inspections by full-time inspectors using our standards based on FSSC22000, an international standard for certification of food safety management systems at the world's highest level, and quality control by specialist chefs.
9:00AM: Check-in
Check-in counter
-
- Counter staff make confirmations to ensure a safe and comfortable flight, including seat assignment and whether the passenger is carrying goods that cannot be checked in the hold.
Baggage loading
-
- When loading the plane, staff handle each item of baggage checked by passengers with great care. Packing is carried out with container balance in mind, and baggage is firmly secured and delivered to its destination.
Meanwhile, on board…
On-board/cockpit preparation
-
- After confirming the latest weather data, flight routes and other information for a safe flight, the pilot inspects the aircraft exterior, cockpit controls and elsewhere for irregularities. The pilot shares this information with the cabin crew and mechanics, and they work together as a team to ensure safety.
Passenger cabin preparation
-
- The cabin safety check includes making sure the emergency exits are functioning and that the required amount of emergency equipment is in the right place. After confirming security information, the status of in-flight vibrations and other matters in a briefing with the pilot and completing the cabin safety check, the crew greets the passengers.
10:00AM: Boarding
Sale of souvenirs and
boxed lunches
-
- ANA FESTA works to provide safe, secure products by checking the consumption and expiration dates of its products and maintaining the cleanliness of its shops every day, in addition to conducting regular inspections regarding food safety and sanitary management.
Completion of preparations for takeoff
-
- After the door is closed, the boarding bridge that connects the boarding gate and the aircraft is safely disengaged. Because the aircraft cannot move in reverse, the pilot works in cooperation with the aircraft marshallers as special large-scale vehicles are used to carefully guide the aircraft from its parking spot to the runway.
